Apple is working on the next model of the M1 Apple silicon chip, which will be named the “M2” initially. The M2 is expected to launch in 2022, and recent speculation hints that it will be a successor to the M1, with Apple using it in later-year MacBook Air versions.
Beginning with the debut of the M1 chip, Apple began deploying its own desktop CPUs in its Mac range. Since then, we’ve seen the M1 Max and M1 Pro, which are the premium level models.
The world of computers was impressed by Apple’s M1 chip because it was better than 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake CPUs.
The majority of rumors surrounding the M2’s likely release date have been tied to the next generation of the MacBook Air, while there has been discussion of an M2 MacBook Pro since the start of 2022.
Apple’s M2 CPU will be released in the latter part of 2022, according to trusted Apple tipster DylanDKT. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, a new MacBook Air 2022 could be introduced at Apple’s WWDC 2022 conference in June, and it will be based on an Apple M2 chip. Reports say that the M2 processor will also be in the expected 13-inch MacBook Pro 2022.
The M2 MacBook Pro may be less expensive than the most recent MacBook Pro models. But, given the increasing cost of GPUs, Apple’s M2 CPU may not be significantly less expensive.
The M2 is believed to have the same 8-core processor as the M1, but it will be faster and more efficient because it will be manufactured on TSMC’s 4-nanometer technology.
It is believed to contain more GPU units, with 9 and 10-core graphics possibilities, up from the original M1 chip’s 7 and 8-core graphics options.
M2 CPU segment is anticipated to be targeted at users rather than specialists when it launches, and therefore will concentrate more on energy saving and general performance improvements over the M1 this should succeed.
We really have no hesitation that the M2 will be fantastic, but my opinion is that next year we might see something substantially superior that will provide an even larger leap in efficiency over the present generation.
