Even though the next-generation 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro might come out in the spring, now is the time to get a good deal.
According to rumors, the next MacBook Pros will employ upgraded versions of the Apple M2 chip present in the 13-inch MacBook Pro M2 and MacBook Air M2. The forthcoming computers, however, are rumored not to feature many further improvements.
While Apple still offers the M1 Pro and M1 Max processors for the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the M2 will be available in the 13-inch model starting in June 2022.
Our focus has shifted to the upcoming generation of larger, more powerful MacBook Pro models. When will new models featuring the M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs begin rolling out to consumers? The improvements were expected in October or November of 2022, but none came. Instead, we could expect an update to the 14-inch MacBook Pro and its 16-inch brother in the spring of 2023.
The rumored M2 Pro and M2 Max processors are the most compelling argument for holding out for the next generation of MacBook Pro laptops. If these processors are an improvement over the current M2 processor in the same way that the Apple M1 was an improvement over the Apple M1 Pro and Apple M1 Max, then they should be.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that the newest processors will prioritize improved graphics performance. Still, it’s not out of the question that processors, power consumption, and battery life will all receive enhancements in the future.
Waiting for the next generation of MacBook Pros is a good idea, even if you’re interested in acquiring one right now. It’s possible, but not sure, that some enticing notebook discounts will appear from various sellers in 2021. As we get closer to the holiday period, this becomes even more important. During Black Friday, you may expect to see price cuts on laptops like the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches.
Assuming Apple does indeed introduce M2-powered MacBook Pros, those who require maximum performance for intensive applications like video and picture editing, software development, music creation, and the like may want to hold off until the M2 Pro and M2 Max models become available. For sure, the models from the previous year offered impressive processing power in a sleek and portable package.
