Mark Gurman has stated that the other new products for 2022 will be announced by press release, which is contrary to the widely held belief that Apple will hold a second presentation later in the autumn to follow up on the September iPhone/Apple Watch launches. The Cupertino-based company thinks that, for the time being, a series of press announcements at regular intervals is more effective than one massive announcement.
Now that the iPhone 14 event has passed, you may be curious as to what the expected October event will offer.
Is a new iPad in our future? What new Macs do you think Apple will release soon? Will there be updated M2 chips available soon? In the time leading up to the event, there are plenty of mysteries to be solved and leaks and rumors to investigate.
Gurman predicts that Apple will release the M2 and M2 Pro-powered Mac mini, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros using M2 Pro and M2 Max processors, and potentially the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with vanilla M2 chips by the end of the year. Although if Apple unveils brand new Mac Pros next month, we probably won’t see any shipments until the following year.
Apple has almost finished migrating to Apple silicon, with only the Mac Pro remaining unaffected. Apple has assured us that Apple silicon would be included in the machine, but the company has not specified a release date. Almost certainly, it will be something that happens in October.
In addition to this, new iPads are anticipated to be announced by Apple. It is believed that one of these will be the new 10th gen iPad basic model, which will include a new squared design, a new CPU, and USB-C.
Is this the last Apple event scheduled for the year? We hope not. However, we can’t be sure of the answer to that question until the next month, so it’s a moot argument for now.
